About Us

On November 26th, 2005, Three60 and Blackarms got together to build a place to host Blackarms’ fan game, “Shadow the Hedgehog – Symbols of Destiny.” A community named Blackarms Studios grew quickly, and soon it thrived.

In 2006,the project idea for “Sonic Genesis: Online” was put together. Some progress was made on it, but we had to put it on hold because of the immensity of the project. Later, Blackarms began to move into fan dubbing on YouTube with the account Blackarms. When that got deleted in November of 2006, he made a new account named BlackarmsStudios. This account became a very well-known account, and many times in the next year would hit the top 100 views list on YouTube.

In 2007, Blackarms began to recruit other people to work as a part of Blackarms Studios on YouTube. With them, Blackarms Studios became very popular. The most subscribed viewers was around 2000. In fan games, Blackarms began to work on his new game, “Sonic and the Enigma Veil.” He was going to release a demo in July, but had to delay until December. But this release was cancelled because of computer issues.

In January 2008, Three60 began the Blackarms Studios Podcast. It grew in length from 10 minutes (YouTube specific) to 15 minutes, to a time of about 25-30 minutes. News about what we were doing was put out this way, and questions were answered. The most people that were ever in a podcast at one time was 5.

In February 2008, YouTube deleted the BlackarmsStudios account on YouTube. After bouncing around ideas for a new name, the one that was chosen was Blue Ridge Studios (others were Devil Doom Studios, Dusk Comet Studios, Purple Twilight Studios, and Blackarms Squeak Squad). This became the Video faction of Blackarms Studios. The podcast was renamed to the Blue Ridge Report.

In the following months, the Blue Ridge Studios account was deleted, along with the next few accounts (Blackarmsnet, BlackarmsOnline, BelowZeroStudios). The podcast stopped being recorded on May 10th, 2008. A lot of activity began to slow down, both for the summer and other internal reasons. Nothing picked up until September, 2008.

Within the first two weeks of September, TeamBlackarms was created on YouTube. On September 20th, Episode 13 was recorded for the Blue Ridge Report. Progress was made towards our long-term goals. We finally got back on track.

However, the track took an unwanted turn. In December, YouTube deleted the TeamBlackarms account, because someone claimed that we had stolen from another account, which happened to also belong to Blackarms. With this event, we decided that the time had come to create our more permanent studio for fan dubs. We chose the name Gaming Parodies, to relfect exactly what it was that we did. This began the change that is now taking place, to move from Blackarms Studios to Gaming Parodies. The website http://www.GamingParodies.com was purchased mid-January, and the switch over to it began.

In February, separate pages for Gaming Parodies and GP Games were created, and Blackarms, who changed his name to Dusk Golem, began to fill the pages with information. In May, the site was redesigned, and the plans were laid to start merging everything Gaming Parodies did into a single body. Both Three60 and Dusk Golem began to go by their real names, John and Ryan (respectively). This was the major push to rebuild Blackarms Studios into Gaming Parodies.

Through October to December of 2009, the move to merge the website completely with everything else was put into full force. The forums were merged with the main site, creating a near-seamless experience on the domain for Gaming Parodies. Some action was made to merge the video portion of the site with the main site, but this has yet to be accomplished.
